Michura, Kenya is a village of about 1500 people who walk 6 kilometers round trip each day so that they can have the water they need for drinking, cooking, cleaning and bathing. Join us as we raise funds for our team to go and help with various community development projects including a water project that will not only relieve them from the daily 6K walk to and from the water source, but also provide them with clean water helping to alleviate water borne illnesses in the area.
While we run the race to clean water with them, we're going to experience what it means to live the life of hauling water for them. The race will start at the White Oak Trail head and participants will head to the Wimberly Road station where they will have the option of carrying water back to the finish line, just as a Kenyan has to carry water back home.
Make sure to join us after the race for a raffle (included with race registration).
Prizes to be awarded to 1st and 2nd place men's and women's finishers and 1st place finishers for boys and girls at the fun run!
Registration Fee:6K Water Dash - $351 Mile Kids Fun Run - $25
Parking:We will be having additional parking at White Oak Baptist Church and running a shuttle between the lots from 7 am - 10:30 am, please help minimize the parking congestion at the trail entrance by parking on the gravel lot at the church. Thanks!
Make sure to bring the whole family out for a morning of fun! Strollers are welcome!
